SOMERSET, Mass. (WPRI) — A female victim was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Somerset Sunday night, and on Monday police asked the public for help to find the vehicle involved.

Police said a red pickup truck hit the victim on Brayton Avenue near the Saint John of God Church shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday. According to police, the pickup kept going into Swansea. It was last seen heading north on Bark Street.

Police said officers found a driver’s side mirror at the scene. Investigators checked the part number, and police said they determined it likely came from a 1998-2001 Ford Ranger or Mazda pickup. According to police, eyewitnesses claimed the pickup had a loud exhaust.
