Man found shot in Easton; police seek car with Florida plates

EASTON, Mass. (WPRI) — Police are working to track down a car with Florida license plates after a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds in Easton on Tuesday.

According to police, a woman and her two young sons were riding bikes in the woods between Pond Street and Langwater Pond when they came across the man just after 1 p.m.

The man, identified by police as 35-year-old Daniel Smith, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton then transferred to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

At last check, Smith remained in critical condition. Police said he’s a Florida resident, but is formerly of Easton.

Police are now searching for a red 2016 Mazda 3 sedan bearing Florida registration 372QQK believed to be connected to the case.
