Driver arrested following multi-car crash on Route 10

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – A driver is facing charges after police say she fled the scene of a four-car crash.

According to Rhode Island State Police, the crash happened just before 2 a.m. on Route 10 North of Reservoir Avenue.

Troopers say Nadine Gamboa, 24, of Pawtucket struck three separate cars, before taking off on foot.

She was captured a short time later on Niantic Avenue and was arraigned Thursday morning on multiple charges today at Kent County District Court, including DUI refusal; driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs 1st office BAC unknown; and duty to stop leaving the scene resulting in damage to an attended vehicle.

Police say three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Route 10 was temporarily closed while crews worked to clear the roadway.
