CONWAY, S.C. (WPRI) – Police have arrested a  47-year-old Florida man in connection with a fatal shooting in Easton, Mass. last week.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office announced Sunday that Michael Arthur Noguera, 47, was located inside a trailer in Conway, South Carolina. He was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with accessory to murder after the fact, armed robbery and larceny over $250. The DA’s office said all of the charges are connected to the shooting of 35-year-old Daniel Smith in Easton on Nov. 8.

According to the DA, a woman called 911 Tuesday and told police her two young sons came upon a critically wounded Smith in the woods between Pond Street and Langwater Pond. He was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and died on Friday night.

Noguera is scheduled to appear in South Carolina court on Monday on a fugitive from justice charge. It’s unclear when he will be extradited back to Massachusetts.

Investigators are still looking for a car they believe might be connected to the case: a red 2016 Mazda 3 sedan with Florida license plate tag number 372QQK. Anyone who sees the car is asked to immediately contact Easton Police at (508) 230-3322 or Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to this office  at (508)-717-4238.
