PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A child in Providence was brought to the hospital as a precaution after a shooting on June Street Tuesday evening.

Major David Lapatin confirmed that a man, woman, and child were sitting in a silver Sedan when shots were fired at it.

The man was hit multiple times, according to police.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the child to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Lapatin said.

The child was not shot but was possibly hit by glass.

Police are working to find a suspect and to determine whether the shooter knew the victim.
