Driver in Woonsocket car crash dies

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — The driver in a Woonsocket car crash has died, police confirmed.

Police responded to a car through a fence on Harris Avenue just before noon on Wednesday.

A 61-year-old Woonsocket man was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat by police and taken to Landmark hospital.

The man may have suffered a medical issue before the crash, said officials.

Witnesses told police that he was slumped over the wheel before the crash.

Police had not identified the man.
