Stewart is remembered as a former Mount Pleasant High School basketball player. He was the third person killed by homicide in the city in 2016. Police said they had not been sure if he’d been the intended target; Stewart did not live in the housing complex where he was shot.

Morales was arrested and faced a judge on the charges June 27. He’s due back in court November 22.
