CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) – Three people were arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a home in Central Falls and stealing several items.

According to police, a witness to the breakin called police at about 9:45 a.m. to report that the three people had just left the driveway at 293 Illinois Avenue carrying a safe, tablet computers and other items.

A Central Falls police detective who happened to be driving in the area saw those same people on Valley Street and summoned more cars; the three people fled when the other police cars arrived but were arrested shortly thereafter.

The owner of the building reported that there was an open window on the first floor and that several items were missing – the same items recovered after the three suspects were arrested.

Police said that two of the suspects are juveniles – a 17 year-old boy and a 14 year-old girl. The third was 18 year-old Yeinifi Cepeda of Central Falls. All three were charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy, obstructing and office and resisting arrest.

Cepeda was arraigned Tuesday afternoon and was held as a bail violator on several unrelated criminal charges earlier this month. The two juveniles appeared in Family Court and were released to their parents.
