Credit union to pay for gazebo repairs after vandalism

SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) – Navigant Credit Union has offered to pay for repairs to a gazebo that was damaged by vandals.

Tim Draper, Navigant’s Vice President of Marketing, says they are opening a branch in Scituate and wanted to do something nice for the community.

The damage to the gazebo at Hope Village Green Park will cost roughly $1,000 to fix.

“We got in touch with the folks who were in charge of the association, told them what our plans were, and they were pretty excited about us being able to come in and help them out.” said Draper.

This is the second time the park has been vandalized.

The town hopes to have all the damage fixed before a Christmas tree lighting that’s happening Thanksgiving weekend.
