Police: Mechanical problem led to Central Falls crash

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — Two cars collided in Central Falls early Thursday morning and police say a mechanical problem is to blame.

The crash took place at about 6 a.m. at the intersection of Illinois and School streets, according to Chief James Mendonca.

Mendonca said a mechanical issue caused one vehicle to strike another and roll over, but did not elaborate on the issue.

The chief also said there were no significant injuries as a result of the crash.
