Police search for Cranston bank robber

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – Police are searching for the person who robbed a Webster Bank Thursday afternoon.

Bank employees say the suspect entered the bank on Park Avenue at around 12:35 p.m. and handed a note to the teller, indicating she would be shot if she didn’t empty the cash register.

The suspect then took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

It’s unclear which direction he went in.

No bank employees or customers were hurt during the robbery.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a white man, between 25-40 years old,approximately six feet tall.

This same suspect is also accused of robbing the Bank RI on Park Avenue on January 20, 2015.

The two banks are just a half mile apart from each other.

Police warn that she suspect could be armed and dangerous, so do not approach him.
