Spieth named Ivy League Player of the Week

Providence, R.I. – Brown senior forward Steven Spieth was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for his three game performance in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Spieth posted three straight 20-plus point games and went a combined 22-of-35 from the floor while averaging 22.3 points per game.

Against in-state rival No. 21 Rhode Island, Spieth scored 21 points, while pulling down five rebounds and handing out four assists as the Bears fell by seven. Spieth followed up that performance against Marist with another 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, while registering a team-high seven rebounds.

In the Bears’ final game against Albany, Spieth paced Brown with a game-high 25 points and seven rebounds, finishing 6-of-10 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.

Spieth and his Brown teammates will be back in action again on Wednesday, November 23, with a matinee home match-up against Morgan State. Tip-off is 4:00 pm at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
