PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Tropicana Bar in Providence has been ordered by the Board of Licenses to remain closed at least until Wednesday.

On Monday, the Board decided they would need to hold another meeting about the future of the bar after receiving new surveillance video of the incident in question.

According to police, a security guard was stabbed twice in the abdomen after pepper spraying an unruly man outside the bar last Friday.

A short time later, police responded to a call for a man struck by a car. Police believe it was the same man in both incidents.

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Eliu Figueroa.

The Board of Licenses is set to meet on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
