ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Police in Attleboro continue to investigate after a pair of businesses in the same strip mall were robbed over the weekend in separate incidents.

Detectives on Monday said they’re following a very strong lead and hope to make an announcement within the next couple of days.

On Saturday morning, a robber held up the Cumberland Farms on County Street. Then, the following morning, the Honey Dew Donuts at the other end of the strip mall was robbed.

“I think it’s disgusting,” said Attleboro resident Daniel Lareau. “I think people should reach out if they’re desperate. There are a lot of resources. Especially in the holiday season, I think it’s kind of sad.”

Investigators collected evidence at the scene and K-9 units canvassed the area.

Police haven’t said whether or not they believe the same person committed both robberies.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact the Attleboro Police Department at (508) 223-2224.
