Providence man indicted in July homicide

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The Providence Grand Jury put out an indictment Tuesday afternoon charging a Providence man with murder, among other charges.

27-year-old Pablo Mendoza has been charged with murder, possession of a knife during a crime of violence, larceny under $1,500, and conspiracy to commit larceny.

Mendoza has been accused of stabbing and killing Harold Northup while a passenger in Northup’s vehicle in Providence on July 28, 2016.

The Providence Police conducted the investigation into Northup’s murder, which led them to Mendoza who lives on Althea Street, the same street where the murder was said to have taken place.

Mendoza is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on December 21, 2016.
