Senior health agent resigns amid animal abuse case

WESTPORT, Mass (WPRI) – A senior health agent has resigned in the wake of the worst case of farm animal abuse in the northeast.

Westport Town Administrator Timothy King confirmed to Eyewitness News that James Walsh resigned Thursday.

Walsh has come under fire following the investigation into the problem property off Rt. 177.

More than 1,400 animals were removed from the farm after they were found to be living in deplorable conditions.
