CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – The Gladstone Elementary School, which was closed Friday because of widespread illness among its students, will be back open Monday, according to school officials.
Principal Susan Buonanno and Chief Operating Officer Ray Votto wrote Sunday that the school will be open after a “thorough sanitizing” of the building.
“It will be business as usual,” Buonanno wrote in a message to parents.
Almost 40% of Gladstone students were out sick Thursday, prompting to school to close Friday.
The Department of Health told Eyewitness News that it was working with the school to address a norovirus-like illness.
