EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Donations are pouring in for the annual Toys for Tots drive.

Once again, employees of Alert Ambulance Service, Inc. in Fall River arrived at the WPRI/WNAC studios in East Providence with a caravan of ambulances full of toys.

Alert employees pulled together around $600 worth of toys.

Rob Araujo, Chief Operating Officer of the company, matched that, bringing the value of Alert’s donations to more than $1,200.

Araujo says employees are enthusiastic about getting involved with Toys for Tots each year.

“We look forward to it. We actually changed it up this year, we did Toys for Tots t-shirts.” said Araujo. “So what employees did was in order to wear these shirts throughout the month of December, you either had to donate a toy a week or you could donate $40 up front towards it, and you can wear your t-shirt all month long.”

Araujo says usually their ambulances are associated with bad times, sick or injured people being transferred, but Sunday night, there were toys on the stretchers instead.

Donations will be accepted at our studios until December 23 and until Christmas Eve at all Cardi’s Funiture or Mattress store locations.
