Men sentenced for sex trafficking teenage girls

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – A 21-year old man is going to prison for sex trafficking two teenage girls.

Mackenzy Scott of Providence was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors.

Beginning in December 2014, Garcia and a co-defendant, Christian Garcia, 21 of Providence, conspired to take inappropriate pictures of a 14-year old and a 16-year old girl.

The pictures were posted on, a classified ad website that has been used for sex trade.

The ad received numerous responses.

According to court documents, Scott and Garcia either drove or arranged for the teenagers to be driven to various locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts to engage in commercial sexual activity.

In May, Garcia plead guilty to his role in the conspiracy, and was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
