Police: 2 arrested after shots fired at Fall River officers

FALL RIVER, Mass (WPRI) – Fall River police have arrested two suspects after officers said gunshots were fired near them on Crawford Street around 3 a.m. Friday.

Elijah Jones, 21, and Crystal Rebello, 23, are facing multiple weapons charges and a third suspect is still on the loose following the incident, police said.

According to police, the officers started following a vehicle after seeing a glass bottle thrown from a window. At one point, police said the suspects’ vehicle pulled over to the side of the road. After officers passed the vehicle and drove back towards it, police said two men who appeared to have guns got out and walked towards them.

The officers identified themselves and told both men to stop approaching, according to police. Instead, the men ran away and one of the suspects reportedly shot at the officers. Police said there were no injuries as a result.

Police said they are still on the lookout for another suspect who is described as a Hispanic male who looks to be in his 20s. According to police, the suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs around 190 pounds.
