2 Rhode Island ponds reopen to swimming

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Kent County YMCA Upper and Lower Ponds in Warwick have been reopened for swimming.

The Department of Health recommended reopening the beaches Monday. They had been closed since last week because of high bacteria counts.

Two other beaches remain closed because of high bacteria counts in the water. They include Oakland Beach in Warwick and Slack Pond in Smithfield.
