Police make arrest after fatal shooting in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Police said a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on South Main Street Wednesday afternoon.

According to Fall River police, officers responded to South Main Street around 4:30 p.m. to a report of shots fired. When police arrived on scene, they found a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was rushed to Saint Anne’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Keishon Workman was taken into custody by Fall River police shortly after the shooting was reported, according to police. He has been charged with carrying an illegal firearm, carrying a loaded illegal firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.

Workman will be arraigned in Fall River District Court Thursday morning.
