NOAA Atlantic Hurricane Forecast: Below Normal

On Wednesday, NOAA issued it’s Atlantic hurricane outlook for the 2015 season.  Here are the key numbers (image courtesy NOAA): Overall this is good news, but keep in mind, it only takes one hurricane to change a season from quiet to active.  Even though 1992 was a below average season, it was also the year of Hurricane Andrew which devastated parts of Florida.  As Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere. points out, “1992 was a below average season as well.  Talk to the folks in South Dade County about how Andrew affected them for decades…
