Congressman David Cicilline isn’t hurting for donations.
Cicilline raised more than $300,000 in the three months ended June 30, his campaign told WPRI.com on Monday. The incumbent Democrat finished the second quarter with more than $825,000 on hand.
Brendan Doherty, the Republican who is ahead of Cicilline in public polls, raised more than $200,000 in the second quarter and finished the three-month period with $663,000 on hand, his campaign said last week.
Compared with March 31, the size of Cicilline’s war chest increased by roughly $124,000 and the size of Doherty’s rose by about $103,000. Both campaigns are spending more on as the election draws closer.
Anthony Gemma, Cicilline’s opponent in the Sept. 11 Democratic primary, has not released his latest fundraising numbers as of Monday morning.
