By Ted Nesi and Sean Daly

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – More than half of Rhode Islanders disapprove of how Governor Chafee handled the collapse of Curt Schilling’s game company, offering evidence the issue may not be a political winner for the beleaguered independent, according to an exclusive WPRI 12 poll released Tuesday night.

  1. Too bad most of the voters of Rhode Island don’t know where the power of their elected officals is held. It is NOT the Governor office but with the Speaker of the General Assembly’s office. I am not a fan of Governor Chafee, but this issue cannot be blamed on him at all. This issue goes to the majority leadership in the General Assembly and senate. The blame also belongs to all but one member of the EDC. In other words people blame yourselves for electing liberal Democrats to office for 70 years. I know many of you think FDR is the Messiah, he was nothing but a conartist and now we are stuck with Social Security as a ponzi scheme, it has been used and abused for too many purposes. Too many votes have been bought with money that was collected from people who worked and anticapted a SUPPLEMENTAL pension. Social Security was never meant to be used as peoples sole source of retirement income. To many of the people in the projects or senior housing think they are going to have their trips around the world on the dime of the taxpayer. I would love to know what they are smoking.
