The Journey Begins

The Top 5 Announcement …
Last Friday was the big day … The Top 5 Finalists for the Search for a Star Competition were going to be announced!

As I pulled up to the Providence Performing Arts Center I reminded myself that I had given it my all up to that point. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my hopes were high. My nerves were buzzing throughout the entire hour leading to the big announcment – and when I found out that I was in the Top 5 I was so happy I didn’t even notice the confetti cannon go off! Tears of joy were certainly shed by me- and, as I later found out, by my Mom too!

After the show we all headed back to the studio to go over our schedule for the upcoming weeks. We got lots of Rhode Show goodies including a mug, tee shirt, back pack and even our own studio ID Card to get in!

As soon as I got back to my office at my current job at Coleman Realtors in East Greenwich I made a pot of coffee and poured it into my new Rhode Show mug! Luckily, my coworkers were very supportive and were so excited for me! I knew juggling the SFAS Assignments with my full time job would be a challenge, but knowing the ladies at work had my back gave me even more confidence I could handle it all!

The excitement has not died down at all since the big day. Just yesterday we got a sneak peak at the new Nordstrom Rack in Warwick Mall. We received our cameras for our assignments which will air on the show next week! Now it’s on to taping and editing up until Friday!

Friday we will be at Dunkin Donuts in Cranston working at the counter!  Luckily for me, my first job out of college was managing a Dunkin Donuts! I’m excited to show you my coffee making expertise and I’m even more excited that all the tips that we receive will go to the RI Red Cross to help with Hurricane Sandy relief.

My shift on Friday is from 4 – 4:30 PM, so be sure to come by and say hello! The Dunkin Donuts is located at:

1288 Oaklawn in Cranston

Thanks for reading, I’ll see you next time!
