Taveras replaces Bill Fischer as PRA spokesman after 2 months on the job

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – After two months on the job and a shift in political support, public relations specialist Bill Fischer is out as the $3,000-a-month spokesman for the Providence Development Agency.

Fischer’s firm, True North Communications, was hired by the quasi-public agency in October, but was let go in December shortly after he became a spokesman for Clay Pell, who is expected to challenge Mayor Angel Taveras and General Treas,urer Gina Raimondo in the Democratic primary for governor this September.
