Retirement Board OKs pension settlement; terms coming

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Rhode Island’s State Retirement Board on Friday voted to approve a long-awaited proposed settlement that would end labor unions’ legal fight to overturn the landmark 2011 pension overhaul, which saved taxpayers roughly $3 billion by paring back benefits for workers and retirees.

  1. The assembly will have the mediated settlement passed by the end of March. They don’t want the unions organizing against them in the primaries. It’s should be obvious to all that Gina Raimondo cannot be trusted. Too bad, I was debating between her and Fung. Now I need Taveras to knock her out in the primary. She’s the only democrat that can beat him.

    Pay attention for one amortization.
