Showers will continue today, although the showers will be less frequent in the afternoon compared to the morning. Some minor street flooding is possible, although we are not expecting widespread river flooding today.
There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm late afternoon or evening as a pocket of cooler air moves in high up in the atmosphere. Despite this slight chance, I still think a good part of the late afternoon and evening is rain-free.
Overall, rainfall should range between about 1.0” to 1.5”, although some isolated 2.0” amounts are possible.
Rivers and streams will have to be watched on Thursday as our 2nd rainmaker of the week moves in. This is because river flooding is cumulative; it’s not only about what falls on Thursday but it’s also about the rain we have received this past weekend and week. It is all starting to add up. –Pete Mangione
