Winds have reached hurricane force in gusts. Conimicut Light off the Warwick coast has hit 81mph as of 11:15PM. It is looking like more frequent gusts to hurricane force will be measured during the overnight as a line of storms offshore spins across Southeast New England.
Doppler radar out of New York has measured winds to 100mph several thousand feet high. Some of that wind could be brought down to the surface in the heavy lines of rain offshore. So, until about 3am, we expect to see many more damaging wind gusts and torrential rain.
