Wind Gusts Still Busy, Gradually Drop Late Day

After a lull in the strong winds earlier this morning, a second burst of winds is rolling through late this morning with some gusts over 40 mph.  Helping to fuel these winds is an area of colder and fast moving air rushing miles above our heads.

A wind advisory is in effect through late this morning and this afternoon with gusts up to 50 mph possible.

A few showers are possible as well, although we are seeing a decent amount of sun mix in right now! Winds will gradually subside during the afternoon and early evening.  This is good news because as of late this morning, there were about 145,00 customers without power.  The strong wind gusts could make it challenging for crews to work on getting the power back, so the sooner we can turn off the wind, the better.

We will have more updates through out the day. -Pete Mangione
